đź”´ Don't look up.

What the US election means for us all.

Hi everyone. I’m Harry, and it’s been 180 days since my last flight.

Just one piece of news to report this week.

 đź”´ Don’t look up.

Trump, a convicted felon, has been re-elected President of the United States.

To put it mildly, it’s bad news for all of us - not just Americans. One of the first actions he took after taking power in 2017 was to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

All the positive progress that had been made by the Biden Administration is set to be reversed.

Drill, baby, drill.

Donald Trump

He’ll start drilling the Alaskan Arctic for oil.

He’ll cancel subsidies for renewables & EVs.

We’ll pay for it.

Meanwhile… Western America is seeing its worst drought in 1,200 years

Whilst Trump denies climate change, the Southwest is experiencing an extreme drought - just after a hurricane hit Florida in the East. Across the country, 78% of the population is being affected. Scientists have deemed the number one cause to be climate change.

This happened before. Just 4 years ago.

Researchers say climate models indicate that an extreme drought like the one from 2020 to 2022 — an event that without warming would likely occur once in more than a thousand years — could become a 1-in-60-year event by the middle of this century.

You can make a difference.

Don’t lose hope. Individual actions go a long way.

Choose fruit and vegetables in season & reducing food waste.

Eat less meat.

Buy fewer new goods & repair rather than replace.

Decide to not to get on that plane.

The last one’s for you, Donald.

We take the week to feel sorry for ourselves, and next week, we get to work.
